Le Pharaon
A miniature pharaoh pendant, modelled on both sides with a striped headdress, narrow face and ceremonial beard. Its 20mm length brings a monumental image to a small, wearable scale.
Heritage & provenance
In ancient Egypt, the striped nemes headcloth identified the king. Royal imagery could also include an upright cobra, or uraeus, and a ceremonial beard. These signs expressed kingship and protection without necessarily naming a particular ruler.
British Museum’s guide to royal Egyptian symbols explains this visual language. The pendant offers a simplified modern interpretation; a named pharaoh cannot be identified from its design.
This is modern, pre-owned jewellery. Its date, workshop and country of manufacture are unknown; the Egyptian subject establishes the inspiration, not the place of manufacture.
Material & condition
XRF testing produced a surface reading consistent with 9ct yellow gold. The pendant weighs 1.03g, with light surface wear and no visible hallmark.
