Victoire, the woman
My grandmother, Victoire, was born in Martinique in 1929 and was the mother of ten. She worked as a dressmaker. She was strong and smart, with a mind of her own, and loved jewellery, especially nugget gold and antique pieces. She left us in 2026. I love her deeply, and I always will.
She passed her love of gold to me, and jewellery helps me keep her close. I named the shop after her so I could share the love of gold she gave me.
Victoire, the brand
In Martinique, gold has long been part of Creole jewellery traditions, including grains d’or, colliers-choux, créoles and dormeuses. I cannot say whether this shaped Victoire’s taste, but the tradition belongs to the island where her story began.
I bring my Caribbean and French heritage to the way I choose jewellery. I associate my Caribbean background with the warmth and presence of gold. My French background deepened my love of antiques and objects cared for across generations. Les Trésors de Victoire brings these parts of my background together through the pieces I choose.
Where I find each piece
The collection is centred on 14-karat gold and above. On rare occasions, I may choose a lower-karat piece when its design, history or personal meaning earns its place; the exact gold fineness is stated clearly on every listing. I source one piece at a time from antique shops around the world, including Paris, Fort-de-France, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Cape Town and Melbourne. I look for softened edges, unusual settings and surfaces changed by years of wear. These details show how a piece has been worn and give it character.
Jewellery made to live
Antique jewellery belongs in daily life. A ring can become the one you wear every morning. Years from now, someone may remember your hands when they put it on. You make a piece worth passing on by wearing it and adding your own memories.
For me, luxury is gold with history, selected with patience and worn until it feels familiar. Each piece should feel precious yet natural to wear.
